Aloe vera hair benefits
Aloe vera isn’t just for skin, it has many benefits for hair
too!
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that can be found growing in the wild in countries with an arid and hot climate. Its vast
range of enzymes, amino acids, vitamins and minerals that can be used in many
treatments for your body, skin and hair.
Usually seen in ingredients lists as Aloe Barbadensis Leaf
Extract, aloe vera has been added to some of our hair care products to create healthy,
strong and shiny hair.
Key aloe vera hair benefits include:
- Hydrating hair - Aloe vera is deeply absorbed into the hair cuticle and draws water molecules from the air and surrounding enviornment into the hair.
- Strengthening hair - It prevents brittleness by hydrating, sealing and nourishing hair follicles.
- Controlling greasy hair - Aloe vera's enzymes break down excess oil without stripping the hair of moisture, reducing an oily appearance to your hair.
- Soothing itchy scalps - Its natural anti-inflammatory and cooling properties, actively reduce redness and irritation on the scalp.
- Protecting against UV
damage - Aloe vera forms a lightweight, moisturising barrier on the hair shaft that helps to shield the hair follicle from sun exposure, preserving hair colour and hydration.
- Promoting hair growth
(anecdotal) - Whilst it hasn't been proven, aloe vera helps to create the optimal conditions for healthy hair growth.
Many of our hair products contain aloe vera due to its
multitude of benefits for strengthening, maintaining and protecting your hair
and scalp.
